Q. I'm a local creative, why should I join BCC?
A. BCC is here to promote the commercial arts, graphic arts, fine
arts and performing arts. We're dedicated to promoting local creative
services with the aim of winning more business for all. All members
benefit from our online listings plus newsletters and events.
Membership is also a chance to find support from like-minded local
organisations, source sponsorship and build joint ventures. Working
together can be fun, and it helps provide a more flexible service to
clients. Also, as a community, we have a more powerful voice, for
example, when applying for funding.
Q. But aren't members in competition with each other?
A. All creatives have their own unique style, and no organisation
provides exactly the same services as any other. Although there may
be some overlap, we find that members who collaborate with each other
can offer a better, wider offering to clients.
Q. What do you do to promote members?
A. Premium members get a full profile including links to your own
website to help your search engine ranking, and testimonials to help
prospective clients assess your services. You can use the BCC logo on
your corporate stationery to enhance your credibility. Premium
membership gives you exclusive access to the member area of the site,
including our Google-free forum. We also give Premium members the
opportunity to showcase their work in our online Gallery and promote
themselves at our events. All members can contribute to our library
of Articles, to demonstrate their expertise and enhance their online
presence.
Q. How do I get on the LBB preferred supplier list?
A. LBB can't show a preference towards any individual business but
are happy to refer people to the BCC as a source of local creative
talent. If you take a Premium membership, complete your profile page,
and play an active part within the community, you have more chance of
being noticed by potential clients. Find out about opportunities to
work for the Council.
Q. What results have already been achieved?
A. Read our Success Stories for examples of members' achievements.
Q. I'm looking for local creative services. Who do you recommend?
A. You can assess Premium members (shown in green) based on the
descriptions and testimonials on their profiles, confident that they
have committed to following the BCC Code of Conduct. Basic
members are listed in black.
Q. What's the BCC background?
A. BCC was launched in 2009 with the support of Bromley Council, in
order to attract more business for creatives in Bromley. It is run as
a constituted community organisation by an independent committee of
local creatives.
We have four objectives:
1. To raise awareness of the wide-ranging skills, availability and
value that Bromley's creative and media community offer to local
businesses and community facilities
2. To create awareness of the business sector with governmental and
economic development organisations
3. To promote inter-group working and support
4. To act as a liaison channel with the Economic Development
Department of LBB
