Member Success Stories
Here are just a few examples of the positive impact that BCC membership can achieve
- Orpington-based business, Telecoms World, was looking to update their website. They chose BCC members Ecce Media and Comms Plus as the right people for the job. The two first met at the BCC's monthly Thirsty Thursday meetings. Although it's a mainly social event, it can lead to business opportunities like this.
-Carol Ann Walters is working on a PR project for a client referred to her by fellow BCC member, Jackie Barrie of Comms Plus. The client's goal is to become a celebrity chef. It will be interesting to see what happens!
-David Owens of Phenomenon has referred some web copywriting for one of his clients to Jackie Barrie of Comms Plus. They met thanks to their membership of the BCC.
-Ian Caulkett of Tiptoe Collective received further press coverage after his design competition win was featured in BCC news. This feature is available to all members to promote their work.
- At the Council's Boost Your Business event in March 2010, one Premium member told us they've had 4 enquiries through their membership of BCC and turned at least 2 of them into paying projects. Another said that clients had chosen him because they've seen him on our site. And Miriam Dennis from LBB was pleased to hear from 10 people interested in photographing the event when she used our 'Request a Quote' feature. It's great to know that our efforts are paying off for both members and clients!
- Com2March and Comms Plus are working on a joint project together – they met thanks to the BCC.
- BCC member Ian Caulkett, of Tiptoe Collective, was
profiled by the Bromley Times. They spotted him thanks to his
contribution to our Gallery page, about a project Tiptoe completed in Dubai.
- Blackfox received an enquiry from a prospective Christian network
client via the BCC site. They have also been working on various
projects for LBB. Finally, they have put a pre-school client in touch
with Cllr Julian Benington which may lead to the client getting more
premises and therefore more work for Blackfox. "I'm convinced we
wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for our membership of BCC," says
John Hickinbottom.
- Premium member, Comms Plus, has booked a venue for an event through a connection provided by Martin Pinnell, LBB. He has been a keen supporter of the Bromley Creative Community since it was founded.
- BCC member, Com2March, was appointed to photograph a Cut to the Chase event at Bromley's Ivory Lounge.
- Comms Plus copywriter Jackie Barrie and PR professional Carol Ann Walters are working together to raise the personal profile of a Comms Plus client. The two creative organisations met via their membership of the BCC. Another success story!
- Blackfox has appointed Comms Plus to help with copy editing for them and their clients. The businesses met through their membership of BCC - another example of how BCC helps drive successful collaboration between Bromley creatives.
- Blackfox appointed Carol Ann Walters to handle the PR announcing their recent award. The organisations met via their membership of BCC.
- Bromley MyTime (a local charitable leisure trust to enhance sports, arts and play facilities) invited BCC members to pitch ideas for a new logo to form part of a series.
- BCC members were invited to quote for graphic design work including postcards and banners for the Bromley Arts Festival 2008. Phenomenon won the contract and turned the work around in double-quick time to meet the client’s tight deadline.
- Blackfox is now working with About My Area, thanks to representatives from both organisations being on the founding committee of BCC.
- MyTime invited BCC members to tender for an installation in the Beckenham Spa. Enlarged family images by Bob Tuthill of Allsorts Design were chosen, and now make an impactful display at this popular leisure centre.
- StraightCurve is providing DVD and photographic coverage of the Bromley Arts Festival, thanks to their membership of BCC. It’s being used as a 3-D training opportunity for their clients on how to do live events, as they happen. Kiaran Hall of Bromley MyTime introduced StraightCurve to BCC, having known them through their film work.
- StraightCurve and Blackfox put together a joint presentation to pitch for a project on the banks of the Red Sea. They got down to the shortlist of two. The two businesses met through their membership of the BCC, and neither would have been able to pitch for the project separately.
